We took four children to Wapengo (Ness)

Three of the kids had lost their Mum to liver cancer the day before. So we drove them to Wapengo, on the south coast of Australia. We swam in the cold sea, made spears from bamboo and stones, hunted an imaginary antelope, found a real goanna (but let him be), climbed trees, painted the rising sun, roasted marshmellows, told fairy stories and slept. Four days stolen before the need to confront cremations and funerals. Rest in peace Marilyn. Your children are wild and brave.
